Biography


Katarzyna Milek - Early Music researcher, specializing in German lute tablature (manuscripts). Since 2002 - lute player in the Early Music orchestras and as a soloist. Recently, a music teacher and a lute player in several orchestras and ensembles in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, such as the Salisbury Baroque Orchestra.

June 2016 Obtain a doctorate degree in musicology


Education and qualifications


1987 - 1995 - School of Music in Pabianice in Poland (title obtained: Musician-Instrumentalist, specialization: Guitarist).
1995 - 2000 - Academy of Music in Lodz in Poland (title obtained: Master of Arts, faculty, specialization: Theory of Music).
- Completed Teacher Training Qualification.
- Completed a course of journalism in Academy of Music in Lodz.
2002 - 2007 - Academy of Music in Cracow (title obtained: Master of Arts, faculty: Instrumental, specialization: Lute).
2011 - 2016 - PhD student at Southampton University.

Employment

1995 - 1999 - Teacher in School of Music in Pabianice.
- Art services (organizing musical programs for local elementary and secondary schools).
1999 - 2000 - Cooperation with local weekly magazine in Pabianice and with musicology periodical Music.
2000 - 2001 - Musician on USA, cruise liner.
2001 - 2003 - Teacher of music therapy in Centre for the Disabled in Pabianice.
2003 - 2008 - Work in Ludowy Theatre in Cracow: Art Coordinator, responsible for organization and planning all art works and stage management. Also Assistant Director in the following productions: Richard the 3rd, director: Jerzy Stuhr, 2005; Prince and beggar, director: Czeslaw Sienko, 2006; The Arab night, director: Tomas Svoboda, 2007. 2006 - Cooperation with Television Theatre and Cracow Chamber Opera.

Since 2008 - living in Dorset, England.
Since 2008 - private music teacher in Dorset and Hampshire area.
